Computing Faculty

Intent

All students have the opportunity to acquire the full range of design, software, multimedia and programming skills for use in IT and Computer Science lessons and across the curriculum.

Key Stage 3 provides the computational and functional skills required to make students creative and independent problem solvers confident in the creation of IT and computing solutions.

Our aim is to provide a challenging and stretching foundation that will enable students to be IT and computer literate and ultimately ready to select a personalised computing pathway for Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

At Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, we build on the core knowledge gained at Key Stage 3 and delve deeper into the ever-evolving world of technology.

Our aim is to make sure all students can apply their study of IT and Computer Science to real world problems, by using a challenging, theoretical and practical based curriculum, to prepare students for the rapidly expanding opportunities in the realm of IT and Computer Science.
